General Manager Position


Job Overview

This position is responsible for all aspects of keeping a tight ship in a challenging environment. The fact that we are boat access only adds a unique challenge to running the lodge. Food orders must be done with extreme care since we can only get supplies once a week. Cost management is extremely important since we are a small business. The General Manager is responsible for leading the rest of the staff in the effort to create the best experience possible for the guests.  This means the manager must be someone who leads by example, is stern but not rude, and is extremely organized. 

Start date: Immediately 

Salary: $1,400 monthly plus food and housing onsite

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Payroll

  • Management the cleaning staff

  • Management the maintenance staff

  • Management of food orders

  • Management of kitchen and bar staff

  • Scheduling 

  • Provide customer service when needed

  • Daily cleaning inspections

  • Quality control

  • Monthly expense reports

  • Tour organization

  • Oversee gear inventory and organization 

  • Oversee all operations



  • Must have experience in the guest services, front desk, and hotel management

  • MUST have very high English and Spanish communication abilities

  • Must have management experience with Spanish speakers

  • Must have experience producing progress and expense reports

  • Must be willing to live onsite at our remote location

  • Must enjoy living in nature

The food cannot be made late, the boat cannot leave late, the guide must have all his gear, the park permits must always be made ahead of time. How would you organize tour operations?
